Maria Mears
Maria Mears creates work that is reflective of her relationships and personal memories. She produces drawings, paintings, and digital art which celebrate her father and her close relatives; Mears’s work also acts as a record of her experiences and her personal history. Mears is an avid writer and a strong activist on inclusion for community members experiencing life with disabilities. Mears uses her written and illustrated personal stories to speak boldly regarding issues such as equality and justice. As a generally soft-spoken soul in day-to-day interaction, she finds great strength and volume in her diligent art and writing practices.
