Mariana Soto

Mariana Soto enjoys making intricate drawings that embody the forms of people, particularly those who are closest to her. Her many thoughtfully placed marks comprise the bodies and faces of friends and family members when viewed in their totality. She also enjoys indulging in abstract works as well, which demonstrates her passion for mark making and the expressive quality of emotion through art. In essence, Soto achieves a hybrid style that is clearly her own. She uses a palm grip tool to create her signature lines. She produces her artwork on heavy paper and pigment sticks.
